Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma on Saturday said that cleanliness is not solely the duty of sanitation workers, but a shared responsibility of all citizens.
Verma emphasized that when leaders lead by example, it lays the foundation for real and lasting change in society.

He appealed to all residents of Delhi to actively participate in the ongoing ‘Delhi Ko Kude Se Azaadi’ campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Swachh Bharat Mission,’ and contribute to making the city cleaner, greener, and a source of pride.
The PWD Minister took part in a cleanliness drive at the department’s office located under the flyover near Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium, where he personally swept the premises.
PWD officials and local residents also joined the drive with enthusiasm, encouraged by Verma’s direct involvement.
He stated that the initiative to make Delhi garbage-free goes beyond optics, and is a movement rooted in community participation, inspired by the values of ‘seva’ (service) and civic pride.
The cleanliness campaign is being held from August 1 to 31 under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. All city MLAs, ministers, ward councillors, and party workers have been instructed to take the lead in cleaning their respective offices, departments, and constituencies.
The campaign promotes not only physical cleanliness but also aims to inspire citizen engagement and a stronger sense of responsibility.
